- Though we are like the animal kingdom, created by God, man is given a living soul
- He was created and fashioned after God’s image

- Phantom
- Resemblance
- Representative figure
- As a shadow is the outline of the original
- Man is given the responsibly of watching over and taking care of earth, animals, etc.

- Gen. 3:22 NIV
- Our soul lives forever
- Though our bodies die, we, our soul, lives on

Jer. 38:16 NIV But King Zedekiah swore this oath secretly to Jeremiah: “As surely as the Lord lives, who has given us breath, I will neither kill you nor hand you over to those who want to kill you.”
- The soul, created by God, is eternal.
- Because of the fall, we have become lost souls for eternity

Is there hope for a lost soul?
Jesus told us that we could find rest for our souls.

Thoughts:

- The cost was both spiritual and physical death
- Colossians 2:13 NIV
- We were spiritually dead but physically alive
- Ephesians 2:1 NIV

- Romans 5:8 NIV
- Jesus came and died for us both physically and spiritually

And that act of salvation is sealed and secured by the Holy Spirit whom Jesus promised he would send.
- John 14:15-20 NIV “If you love me, keep my commands. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19 Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. 20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.
Paul says in Ephesians 1:13, “having believed”
- The Holy Spirit is deposited into your life
- This restores our relationship with God
- Romans 5:1-8 NIV
Our eternal soul can now be given eternal life with God.
- Where will your soul spend eternity?
